Abstract. A method for monitoring a network includes: identifying a
plurality of groups of devices in a network, wherein
each of the plurality of groups of devices is a set
of related devices; sampling a status of a group of
nodes in each of the plurality of groups of devices,
wherein each of the plurality of groups of devices
has a plurality of groups of nodes; and determining
a status of the network based on the sampled status
of the group of nodes in each of the plurality of
groups of devices.
