I am a Principal Research Scientist and Manager at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center and a member of the IBM Academy of Technology. My group focuses on cloud and system security, particularly on three broad themes: confidential computing, operating system security, and integrity management. Our projects are closely aligned with Red Hat, IBM's Cloud and System z. We are also actively working with the open source communities. Prior to that, I was leading the research and development of a Software-defined Data Governance framework inside IBM's Watson Data Platform. Prior to that, I managed the Next Generation Platforms group, which focused on system-level and nested virtualization, network function virtualization and software defined networks, and their application in enabling multi-cloud enterprise systems.

I have completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan. My Ph.D. focused on the integration of intelligent controls in computer networks and operating systems to enhance their efficiency, usability, and security. Before that, I completed my Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, where I worked on data streaming over ATM networks. Even before that, I did my undergraduate studies in Computer Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
